Privacy Policy
ALTR LLC. Version 1.0. Effective September 9, 2026.
This policy covers altrwork.com and the email we send you. It is short because we collect little. If something here is not true of us, we left it out on purpose rather than pad the page.
ALTR LLC, a Florida limited liability company, Tampa / St. Petersburg, Florida. Questions: privacy@altrwork.com.
What we collect
What you type into a form. Our forms ask for a work email address, and sometimes a name, a company, and a short description of what you are trying to do. That is all we ask for and all we want. Do not put confidential or sensitive information into a website form.
What your browser sends. Like every website, our host records IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you visited. We use this to keep the site up and to understand which pages are worth writing more of.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets cookies and collects usage data. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, we do not run ad retargeting pixels, and we do not sell anything to data brokers.
Nothing else. We do not collect payment information on this website. When you pay us, you pay through Stripe on Stripe's own pages, and we never see or store your card or bank numbers.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor gave us information, email privacy@altrwork.com and we will delete it.
Why we use it
- To send you the thing you asked for, such as a field guide.
- To reply to you.
- To send occasional practical updates about our work, if you asked for those.
- To keep the site running, secure, and worth reading.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have never done either and have no plan to.
Who else touches it
We use a small number of vendors to run the business. Each gets only what it needs to do its job:
| Vendor | What it does | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Hosts the website and receives form submissions | Form contents, IP, request logs |
| Google Analytics | Counts and segments site visits | Usage data, cookie identifiers |
| Google Fonts | Serves the typeface the site uses | IP address, at font load |
| Stripe | Processes payments | Billing details you give Stripe directly |
| Google Workspace | Our email and documents | Anything you email us |
| Calendly | Books calls, when you click through to it | What you enter on Calendly |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or to a buyer as part of a sale of the business, in which case this policy follows the data.
If you asked for updates, we send them. Every email has a working unsubscribe link, and we honor it promptly. We do not sell or rent our list, we do not send on behalf of third parties, and we do not use misleading subject lines. Our mailing address is in the footer of every message, as CAN-SPAM requires.
Unsubscribing stops the updates. It does not stop replies to a conversation you started, or messages about work we are doing for you.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions and email list entries: until you ask us to remove them, or until three years after your last interaction with us, whichever comes first.
- Analytics data: on Google's retention schedule, currently 14 months.
- Client records, invoices, and contracts: seven years, because tax and professional obligations require it.
How we protect it
We use access controls on our accounts and devices, keep credentials out of source control and out of client documents, and limit who on our side can see what. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
If we determine that a breach affected personal information about Florida residents, we will notify affected individuals within 30 days of that determination, and the Florida Department of Legal Affairs where the Florida Information Protection Act, section 501.171, Florida Statutes, requires it.
Your choices
You can, at any time, and regardless of where you live:
- Ask what we have about you. Email privacy@altrwork.com.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it. We will, except where we have to keep it for tax or legal reasons, and we will tell you if that applies.
- Unsubscribe from email, using the link in any message.
- Turn off analytics with Google's opt-out add-on, or with any browser setting or extension that blocks it. The site works fine without it.
We answer these within 30 days. We do not charge for it and we do not treat you differently for asking.
Comprehensive state privacy laws such as the Florida Digital Bill of Rights and the California Consumer Privacy Act apply to companies far larger than we are, so they do not currently govern us. We offer the rights above anyway, because the alternative is a page explaining why we would not.
People outside the United States
We operate in the United States and our vendors store data here. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, under United States law. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and want your data removed, email privacy@altrwork.com and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will change the version and date at the top. Where a change is significant and we have your email, we will tell you.
